Biography

The Will County Board is made up of part-time elected officials. Gretchen Fritz also works in a number of other areas that interest her. She works for an Edward Jones office as a Branch Office Administrator several days a week. One weekend a month, Gretchen teaches Illinois Concealed Carry for SAFER USA. She is also self-employed as a freelance writer and editor: “Go to print with confidence with My Editor Creative Business Services.” One of her best customers is The Illinois Shooter, the official publication of the Illinois State Rifle Association.

Sundays are busy for Gretchen. She attends church regularly in Bolingbrook at Fellowship Chapel of the Christian & Missionary Alliance, where she is a deacon and the assistant treasurer. On Sunday nights Gretchen can be heard on On Target Radio on AM560 The Answer, aka WIND.  Gretchen recently became the Vice Chair of the Illinois State Rifle Association Will County Grassroots Chapter. She also serves on the Constitutional Rights fundraiser planning committee.

Gretchen is pro-life and is a member of Feminists for Life. FFL says, “Abortion is a reflection that we have not met the needs of women,” and they seek to find ways to meet those needs, making abortion unnecessary. “Established in 1972, Feminists for Life of America is a nonsectarian, nonpartisan, grassroots organization that seeks real solutions to the challenges women face. Our efforts are shaped by the core feminist values of justice, nondiscrimination, and nonviolence. Feminists for Life of America continues the tradition of early American feminists such as Susan B. Anthony, who opposed abortion.”

Gretchen earned a Bachelor’s of Science in music business at Millikin University and a Master’s of Library and Information Science from University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.
